These words are tattooed on the inside of my right arm.

I fell in love with music in 8th grade when a buddy introduced me to Def Leppard’s 1993 album Pyromania – on vinyl – and I heard the opening guitar riff to Photograph.

Fast-forward to me finally buying a bass guitar on my 40th birthday. I challenged myself to learn one song in six months; when that six months passed, I could play a somewhat recognizable version of Welcome to the Jungle, so I decided to keep it up. Six years later, I started a Guns n’ Roses tribute band called The Guns n’ Roses Experience. We’ve played shows throughout Texas and Oklahoma, including such hallowed venues as Gas Monkey Bar & Grill, Lava Cantina, Legacy Hall, Tower Theater.

We start every show with Welcome to the Jungle. Back when I turned 40, I never thought that six years later, I’d be playing a pretty solid version of that same song on stage dressed up as the mighty Duff McKagan himself.
